Street Division

The Street Division is one of the divisions of the Public Works Department. It consists of one crew chief and two maintenance workers. The responsibilities of this division are patching, sealing cracks in the streets, potholes, street signs, and traffic signals, keeping catch basins clean from debris, and keeping the streets clean.

This crew is also responsible for preparing the streets for events such as the Red Bud Classic, Oklahoma City Memorial Marathon, Pooch Parade, and the Ann Taylor 4th of July Parade and Celebration. This crew is also called to assist their co-workers during sewer/water main breaks.

Current Paving Projects

Paving Improvements to 7600 Block Dorset Drive.

Starting on June 5, 2023, Rudy Construction Company will begin pavement removals to the eastern, northbound lane, beginning at Grand Boulevard. This lane will be partially closed during the construction. One lane will remain open during the paving removal and the paving replacement.

Residents will have access to their driveways during the paving process, except when the concrete is curing in front of the driveway, which takes approximately three days. This project is scheduled for 150 days and is expected to be completed by November 16, 2023, weather and supplies permitted.
